1. What is a full-fowler bed?

Fowler beds are designed for the health professionals’ convenience and patients’ health and comfort. The four-sectioned perforated beds ensure the patients’ backrest and knee rest by enabling them to sit at the ideal 45 degrees to 90-degree angles. Patients can further adjust the bed, feet and head height along with the side rails. In addition, they come with electronic buttons by which the features can be adjusted, along with using remote devices.

2. Can we put a regular mattress on a full fowler hospital bed?

A regular mattress does not endure the strict requirements associated with the patient’s medical conditions. For example, traditional mattresses are not bendable as required for an adjustable bed. This is a standard feature, especially in patients who are unable to lift, sit up and eat by themselves. In most cases, they are not hygienic and are not easily replaceable.
